Week 2-2: The children tell their own sand stories

The children remembered that today is the day they get to create their own sand stories.  However, I wondered if they remembered the sand story from yesterday?  With the help of our iPad, I was able to show the children the images, frame by frame, so that they could tell me the story of the little girl named Soleil.  Not only did the children remember the story but there was an interesting question:  Did it start to rain because she was so sad?  Matthew pointed out that maybe it was rain on her face from the sky and not from her eyes.  Paxton and Connor thought that no one can make it rain, it just happens…..

Matthew tells a story of the water of the ocean coming in and pushing the sand up

Kesler said this is a fish coming out of the water

The fish gets dry and goes back in the water

Connor tells a story about a digger truck that digs a huge hole in the ground for a house.
There was no treasure found in the big hole

Francine's story is about a girl like her who is happy because she gets to go to dress up like a real princess and play on the beach
