Water Conservation, what we can do: part 2

We read the book "Our Earth Saving Water" by Peggy Hock.  The one recurring them on the book, was that we need t be aware that we have the power to use less fresh water.  Together, the children summarized these simple rules:

1. fix all leaky faucets
2. use a bucket of water whenever you can
3. use rainwater as much as you can

To assess their understanding,  the children put on their "water detective" hats to find solutions to the following challenges:

Using a broom to clean the sidewalk uses less water than a hose

Washing the car with bucket of water uses less water than the car wash

Silly spriknlers and long showers waste water.

Keep a pitcher of cold water in the fridge & recycle cooking water
